Gentle Rory Calhoun Wilson is the antithesis of the 1950s cowboy he’s named for. He loathes sports, NASCAR and everything else his father adores, putting the two on a collision course fueled by Darrell Wilson’s inability to control contempt for his son’s emerging homosexuality.
Another F-Word is a story of bullying, courage and love. It examines parental struggles to support a gay child, the role that schools and religious institutions play, the tragedy of teen suicide, and the ability of a rural Bible Belt boy to remain open to people who can influence his life in remarkable ways. Rory’s is a story of triumph over the scarring effects of being labeled and bullied.

You've come to the right place to learn about me and some of the things I've written and published. I hope you'll come back often to check out my latest work. Now retired from fulfilling careers in teaching, public relations and marketing, I have become a full-time advocate for retirement and doing what feels good. "Do what you like, and like what you do" is my new motto.
I'm working on one novel and another non-fiction book about my impressions of southern life. When I need a change of pace, I contribute articles to Western North Carolina Woman and other publications. I'm a transplanted Appalachian woman, happy to identify as a new Southerner.

Born and raised in New Jersey, I've been working my way south to my current home in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of NC. When I'm not writing I spend time hiking along refreshing mountain streams, snowshoeing on the ridges, or just pickin' awhile on my bluegrass banjo.
My log cabin is my Appalachian home and office. When I need a break from writing I enjoy watching my wildlife neighbors.
